My philosophy

My philosophy

My philosophy as a therapist is a collaborative approach. In other words, we are a team working together. I seek to understand the context of what you go through in your life and together we can work toward self-awareness and insight. It is important to me that you do not feel labeled, it is more important that you feel understood. Only through understanding will you then be able to carry out your goals in therapy.

I bring compassion, support, guidance and care to our therapeutic relationship. I have had training in contextual family therapy; this only means that I bring to you an understanding of family dynamics from a humanistic perspective. Additionally, I have studied Relational Cultural Therapy which is the study of relationships as well as understanding the influence of culture in relationships.

The most important aspect of therapy is the relationship that you and I develop. That is why I find it so important to listen with a nonjudgemental ear, to not label you but to see you as the unique individual that you are and want to been seen. If you are seeking relational guidance either individually  or together, I am passionate that both of you feel supported by me. You can get a sense of how I work by reading my eBook, if you’d like. 🙂

Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have about the therapeutic process.

Not everyone wants to go to therapy. That is why I have created online courses for you. I have had people work in therapy with me as well as working on a course. It is a productive way to use all styles of learning! Check out my free course! I am excited to offer this course free to you! The work in my course came from my research in my doctoral program. I discovered a phenomenon that I refer to as a “softening moment” regarding conflict and relationships. Check it out!
